Sizzy Rocket captures the angst of a generation with a riot grrly new song, “American Rage”. It is one out of two songs on her new electrifying single of the same name. “The World Is Burning” is the second track on American Rage, the artist’s illustration of the highs of reckless abandon and the lows that follow.
“American Rage” entrances the listener with a hypnotic beat that transports them into the “hot pink spray [painted]” world of the song. Edgy bass synth with EDM vibes adds an electronic accent, and the guitar riffs sound like they belong in a late-2000’s teen movie (a scene where the characters are doing something really badass). Sizzy Rocket dazzles with her strong and emblematic voice that brings nostalgia of the music that predominated pop punk and EDM in the 2010’s. If punk rock & hip hop had a rebellious teenage daughter, this is her anthem. “American Rage” is perfectly balanced out by its melancholy counterpart, “The World Is Burning”. This song sounds like the aftermath of the fiery first track: beautiful devastation. “The world is burning and I wanna go down with it,” sings Sizzy in a way that makes one want to cry. Sizzy Rocket demonstrates her ability to create vastly different-sounding songs that fit together perfectly on American Rage. It takes an immeasurable amount of talent and skill to create something this unique. And Sizzy Rocket? She’s got it.
